apps in the background. Whistle is only connected to the our
network when the phone is running. However you can currently use
the follow me feature to tie the phone number to any other phone
numbers you have and when an incoming call is received on your
Whistle phone number and you have the app closed, the call will
automatically try to connect to your follow me numbers.

Let me know if you have questions on how to set this up.

Whistle Gurutag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/15774482010-05-07T00:41:18Z2010-05-07T00:41:19ZWhen closing the app

I guess another way to ask that question, I've got the same
question is, will Whistle be ready for iPhone 4.0? When
multitasking comes, will Whistle be able to run in the background
while I'm typing in Pages, etc, etc. That's probably the multi
million dollar question for iPad users. Over all, this is a very
nice app concept.

John Paintertag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/15774482010-05-07T15:05:54Z2010-05-07T15:05:54ZWhen closing the app

We are currently working on trying to implement this feature,
but we have no time table for release as of right now.

Whistle Gurutag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/15774482010-05-14T13:38:58Z2010-05-14T13:39:20ZWhen closing the app

you can have whistle running constantly in the background if you
are jailbroken running backgrounder. Then you can receive incoming
calls constantly, you just have to start the app to answer it. Or
dbl click the top of the iphone screen to access backgrounder and
click on whistle. I tested it and it will ring when the phone is
locked as well.

metag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/15774482010-05-21T17:12:03Z2010-05-21T17:12:03ZWhen closing the app

Thanks for the feedback

Whistle Gurutag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/15774482010-10-09T01:28:44Z2010-10-09T01:28:45ZWhen closing the app

I have compared with 3 other ipads and here are the results:
When all ipads are running whistle opened, calls are received no prob
When all iPad apps are closed, all but mine receive calls

What is the difference between the other ipads and mine that they can receive calls when the app is closed and I cannot? We purchased the ipads about the same time and are running the same software versions on both iPad and whilste.

Are you running the app with any third-party programs connected to it, or is the iPad jailbroken?

Whistle Catherinetag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/15774482011-02-06T12:18:46Z2011-02-06T12:18:46ZWhen closing the app

this item is resolved and should be closed...

Raymond Pereztag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/15774482011-02-06T16:35:07Z2011-02-06T16:35:07ZWhen closing the app

Push notifications work great on my iPhone. It's the only free
VOIP app that I know of which has free push notifications. It's
just a shame they don't seem to support inbound sip URIs yet so I
could get free calls from other folks using SIP.

ISing1800
