What codecs is whistle using?
I am wondering that codecs whistle uses in different situations:
- With generic SIP account. What is the preferred codec list for
whistle phone? I am especially interested in what kind of codecs
whistle use over 3G. A low bandwidth codec certainly helps with
voice quality.
- With whistle account. What is the protocol whistle phone use to talk to the whistle servers? I assume the server will convert the call to the PTSN. So what matters is the codec between the whistle phone and whistle server.
Thanks for listening. Hope you can make this a huge success!

Sorry for the delay,
We use the following codecs
iLBC (select platforms), G.711 u-law and G.711 a-law.

Thanks for the message. Is iLBC included in the iPhone software? Does it have a higher priority than the other two?

iLBC is only used on our Mac and Windows clients.

Really? That is too bad. iLBC's advantage is bandwidth efficiency. So it might be better used with iPhone. But thanks for your info anyhow.
