I want to delete my whistle account for now because of my area code and could not update my whistle account.
I will later sign up.

Aidanie,
I can do that, but it looks like your account was never activated. If you were having trouble getting started, would you like me to instead activate the account so you can try it?
Michael,
Please see my response to you in this thread. Thanks.

I need to change my area code to 623
Support Staff 5 Posted by Whistle Eleanor on 28 Jan, 2012 09:04 PM
Jtina,
Please use the number change process to change your number:
If the area code you're looking for is not available, you can choose to wait. We'll automatically notify you by e-mail when we get new numbers with the code you searched for.

Dave,
May I offer troubleshooting help first? If you're being repeatedly asked to authenticate, the problem can be solved simply by configuring the app. Is that what you're experiencing?
Angel and Michael,
Are you getting this error when trying to call numbers you've called before, or on any number at all?

i am getting it on any number i call. and the password keeps popping up. also when it does say call failed forbidden. i can't dial out for almost 12 hrs every time and its been doin that every day since i downloaded the app to my iphone. i have tried to delete the app and everything.

Angel,
Looking at your account, I can only recommend waiting at least 24 hours before trying to make a call again. The error you're experiencing results from overburdening the line, so please scale back the frequency of your calls in the future to avoid seeing this error again.
If you continue seeing requests for your password, however, please let me know.

Yes, it asks again and again and again for the password. I have entered it again and again and again. It doesn't like it.
It is a simple password, being consecutive numbers. Hard to mess up. I have done a password reset here online. But still the same result.
So what do you mean by 'configuring the app?'
Support Staff 13 Posted by Whistle Eleanor on 28 Feb, 2012 05:06 PM
Dave,
You can automatically configure the app by clicking on the "i" or "Account" button and signing in. This will bring the app into alignment with your current account information, and should allow you to authenticate.
If you still have trouble, let me know.

Ok, so that works. Silly me to think that entering my password on the authenticate popup would do anything. So I guess I still don't understand what that 'authenticate' thing was all about. Doesn't matter.
In any case, you'll can still delete my account since there won't be any free calls to/from non-whistle accounts at the end of the month. So continuing this service is, for me, pointless. Thanks for all your help.

Dave,
Okay, I understand. I have now removed the account. I'm sorry this change came at an awkward time.
