Whistle to Whistle call issue & ad question
Hi,
Is the service from whistlephone.com stable? I've started using whistlephone from last 2 weeks & I observed that most of the time when I try to contact another whistple number (whistle to whistle), it says "I'm sorry but the call could not be connected". At the same time, if I try to call actual At&T or Verizon or any non-voip providers, the call works fine. But whistle to whistle gives problem sometimes. Is there any bug on your end?
2nd question, why my name does not get displayed in the caller id? I'm using linksys spa2102 adapter & I've setup my name under display name. However, when I call my friends, they get only my whistle phone number. I contacted linksys & they told me that it is service provider's issue. can you tell me why whistlpehone doesn't display the name??
Another question, if my friend calls me at my whistle number, will he also get the ad of 20 sec or the ad can he heard only from my end whenever I'll make outbound calls through my whislte number?
Last question, if I don't want to hear the ad, what do I need to do? Please note that I'm going to use this service only to call within US excluding hawaii.
Thanks in Advance!

Ramesh,
The service is stable. If you're getting a "call could not be connected" message, then it's likely that something is interfering with the phone call. Have you tried making these calls on different networks, or making a test call with your firewall disabled?
Names are currently not displayed in caller ID because that is considered a cosmetic feature, and we'd like to focus on the structure of the program first. We do intend to address this in the future, though.
As for the ad--the ad supports your call. When somebody is calling your number, he is paying, so he doesn't hear the ad.
If you don't want to hear the ad, you can just open your app settings and choose the option to use your balance for domestic and international calling.

Ramesh:
Next time you encounter this, an alternative is to provide us with the device type, time and number you dialed. Email this info to [email blocked]. We will look into it.
