No, you shouldn't have to do anything with the SIP proxy. The
app should use "proxy.whistlephone.com", but don't worry about
it.

To start with, try logging in through the app. Use the "i" or
"Account" button to open the log-in screen. Does that work?

Whistle Eleanortag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/106492462011-10-17T03:31:46Z2011-10-17T03:31:46Zcan not re-register on whistle with old existing account??

my friend tried the SIP proxy way and it works, now she can
logged in her whistle account. thanks for your help anyway :)
however, there is another problem that has arisen though. when she
calls me, i can not hear anything from her side but she still can
hear me very clearly. would you please help me how to fix it?

Tu Ngotag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/106492462011-10-18T18:21:26Z2011-10-18T18:21:26Zcan not re-register on whistle with old existing account??

Tu,

The first thing we usually look for with this issue is an
improperly connected microphone on the Whistle user's end. What
kind of device is she using Whistle on, and what kind of audio
input/output device(s)?

Whistle Eleanortag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/106492462011-10-18T20:49:57Z2011-10-18T20:49:57Zcan not re-register on whistle with old existing account??

She is using iphone 4 and I'm using iphone 3GS. She tried to use
the phone and then the headphone to talk but I still couldn't hear
her both ways. We were able to call each other through whistle just
fine before.

Tu Ngotag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/106492462011-10-18T21:05:13Z2011-10-18T21:05:13Zcan not re-register on whistle with old existing account??

Tu,

Does it make a difference if she calls you from a different WiFi
network, or if she uses 3G instead?

Whistle Eleanortag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/106492462011-10-18T21:16:03Z2011-10-18T21:16:03Zcan not re-register on whistle with old existing account??

no we always use wifi at home to call each other. We used Skype
right after we couldn't use whistle and we talked just fine through
wifi, so the problem shouldn't be the internet connection
right?

Tu Ngotag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/106492462011-10-18T21:36:25Z2011-10-19T17:22:09Zcan not re-register on whistle with old existing account??

please i try to call a number in the state but anytime i dial

Whistle works differently from Skype, so one working doesn't
really have any bearing on the other. It still may not be a
connection problem, but it will be helpful to conclusively rule it
in or out before going forward. Could you both please try
contacting each other from different locations? We typically
recommend public WiFi for testing, such as in a coffee shop, since
such networks tend to be Whistle-friendly. Ideally, you should
switch off who stays on their normal network and who relocates, to
pinpoint the exact location of the issue. Let me know how it
goes.

Whistle Eleanortag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/106492462012-02-03T17:43:39Z2012-02-04T18:17:00Zcan not re-register on whistle with old existing account??

i am wondering why i can't use my newly activated whistle phone.
