Bug in iOS4.0 ?? Ringer Volume very low - intermittent
Im running the latest Whistle Phone app on two iphone - a 2G running OS3.0 and a 3GS running iOS4.
When I call the iOS4 phone, the ringer volume is intermittently low - really low - even though the physical ringer volume is turned up all the way. This mostly happens when I am calling the phone by recognizing it under bonjour - if i dial the iOS4 # it happens less - but still happens.
I can call the OS3.0 phone using my iOS4 phone and it will ring on high volume EVERY time - no matter whether its from Bonjour, from recent calls or dialing the number.
Thoughts?
ps...I have tried turning the phone on/off and deleting/reinstalling the app several times - no dice.

Lee,
Since you started two threads on this topic, I'm going to close this one and reply in the other, okay?

Here is what I wrote in the other thread:
Lee,
Right now, one of the problems with the iOS4 is that it doesn't play the sound files for the ring properly. We usually recommend making sure a headset with a mike is plugged in, but sometimes, it just doesn't work. It's one of the issues we're looking to fix.

Thanks for your quick response. I have another quick Q - will you be offering a choice of area code #s with the new update and will that be available for existing customers (upgrade). I signed up for an account for my wife (the OS3 iphone) and just by luck the # had the same area code as our local one!!! Im jealous now and want mine to match my local area too!

Lee,
As a matter of fact, it will! The ring problem is one of the things that we're working on for the 1.2 update, but another option we're planning to implement will be the ability to pick your area code.

That's great news Catherine - so now the big Q - when's the update slated for release - weeks, months?

Lee,
Sorry for the delay! We're hoping to have the area code update out in about a month.
