How do I add phone numbers to already existing contacts on iPad. And how can I add whistle dialed numbers into contacts or whistle while in whistle- or can't I?

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

Whistle does not support in app contact management. Whistle only consumes the contact information.
You can update your contacts on your iPhone manually and then the changes will be reflected in Whistle when you open it the next time.
