Hello, I installed whistle on my iPad, I can receive calls but cannot make. -- I've read through the responses from post made by people having same issue as me...I did what was suggested (try using a public connection) and it worked....

I also saw "disable the SIP ALG" on your router...BUT this I don't know how to do. I logged into my account but cannot find anything about that...I use NETGEAR WNR1000. how do i get this fixed?

Thank you.

    Ali,

I also responded to you in a different thread, I think, but in the future let's keep the conversation on this one for clarity, okay? It's easier to have a conversation in just one place. : )

Do you need to know how to access your router, or are you having trouble finding the settings?

I am having trouble finding the settings. I am logged in but when i go to WAN setup as suggested, there is nothing there that has SIG ALG..

    These are all I see..

    Disable SPI Firewall
    Default DMZ Server
Respond to Ping on Internet Port
    MTU Size(in bytes)
    NAT Filtering

    Thank you

    Ali,

As I understand it, the SIP ALG settings should be under NAT Filtering. You may also want to change NAT Filtering itself from Secured to Open.

hmm, it is set to open. has always been... setting to open and secure are the only options for it..

Is the SPI firewall disabled? Some firewalls can also interfere with Whistle.

Also, it looks like there are two versions of the WNR1000, and v1 may not be compatible with SIP services like Whistle. If that's the case, you may want to consider switching to a different router.

    Ali,

I'm sorry for the trouble. Do you have the WNR1000 v1, then? It would help us to have that data for future reference.
