Are you receiving any error messages? Also, are you on a
different network than you were when you previously made the
calls?

Thomas,

What system are you on? If it's an iPad/iPhone, is it
jailbroken?

Whistle Catherinetag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/18963562010-06-09T20:04:13Z2010-06-09T20:04:16ZCan't make outgoing calls on ipad

No errors, I dial the number then press the green button to
call. Nothing happens. I've tried on different networks even the
one I originally have made calls from. All the while I am able to
receive calls only. And yes the iPad is jailbroken.

Baloo singhtag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/18963562010-06-09T20:22:37Z2010-06-09T20:22:37ZCan't make outgoing calls on ipad

Baloosingh,

There's your problem, then. Apps aren't guaranteed to work on
jailbroken devices. Also, in event that the device is jailbroken,
I'm sorry to say that we can't provide further support.

Whistle Catherinetag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/18963562010-06-10T00:11:56Z2010-06-10T00:11:59ZCan't make outgoing calls on ipad

Well i know that isn't the problem because I kno a few others
that have the same setup as me and they have no problems with
whistle or any other app for that matter. I'll restore my iPad to
verify if thats the problem

Baloo singhtag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/18963562010-06-10T17:56:11Z2010-06-10T17:56:11ZCan't make outgoing calls on ipad

Baloosingh,

The jailbroken iPad is a problem because you've technically
altered the state of the device, which means the normal parameters
don't apply any more. If you can restore your device to a
non-jailbroken state, then we can help you more easily.

In the meantime, though, our engineers have suggested that your
router may be the problem. Routers have internal firewalls that can
mess with VoIP traffic. If you can disable SIP ALG (that's
Application-Level Gateway) in your router, it will likely fix your
problem. You can find more information on the SIP ALG, and how to
disable it, at <a href=

.

Whistle Catherinetag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/18963562010-06-11T00:44:17Z2010-06-11T00:44:17ZCan't make outgoing calls on ipad

I did some digging prior to your recent post and found the same
reference you listed. It is in fact a router issue.

I don't deny the fact that a jail broken device's altered
parameters don't apply as normal. Simply that in this case with
other identical devices there was no issue.

Thanks for the continued support despite the iPad being
jailbroken!

Baloo singhtag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/18963562010-06-11T00:59:36Z2010-06-11T00:59:36ZCan't make outgoing calls on ipad

Also I had to actually CHECK disable SIP ALG on my netgear
router in order to make outgoing calls.

Baloo singhtag:support.whistlephone.com,2010-02-09:Comment/18963562010-06-11T18:01:34Z2010-06-11T18:01:34ZCan't make outgoing calls on ipad

Problem solved, then? Glad to hear it; the SIP ALG issue has
been haunting our users lately.

Whistle Catherine
